Car remapping and chip tuning are not one and the same thing. What separates them is the technique used to change a car’s map. It is very unlikely that with the advances in today’s technology that anybody would chip tune. Instead, they would use ECU remapping to drive performance, or ECO remapping to optimise factory settings and improve economy.
The best way for Kingston motorists to think of ECO remapping is as a Stage 1 process. ECU, or performance remapping, is typically a Stage 2 procedure. Stage 3 car remapping is thought of by most specialists to be closer to a racing map.
Note that with some stages, you may need to make modifications to your car or add in a DPF removal for off-road use.
